The results of the Global Burden of Foodborne Diseases Initiative have now been published in a special collection in PLOS Medicine (see http://journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/). This initiative was coordinated by the World Health Organization through their Foodborne Diseases Epidemiology reference Group (FERG). Paul Torgerson is the leader of the Parasitic Diseases Task Force in FERG and is the lead author of the research article "World Health Organization Estimates of the Global and Regional Disease Burden of 11 Foodbonre Parasitic Diseases, 2010".
