Paul Torgerson and Duriya Charypkhan presented at the international workshop “German – Central Asian Cooperation on Zoonotic Diseases”. The workshop was organized by the Bundeswehr Institute of Microbiology and the German Research Platform for Zoonoses took place on June 12, 2019 in Munich. Paul Torgerson gave an overview on two decades of research collaborations on zoonotic diseases between the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich and Central Asian institutes. The main focus was on cystic echinococcosis, alveolar echinococcosis, and brucellosis in Central Asia. Duriya Charypkhan presented her project on introducing One Health strategies to brucellosis control in Kazakhstan. The full workshop report is available here.
