I was born and grew up in Nepal. There, I studied Bachelors in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc and A.H). Later, I moved to Europe to pursue my master’s degree in Infectious Diseases and One Health under the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in France, Spain, and Germany. I conducted my master's thesis at the Friedrich-Loeffler Institute, Germany. This further shaped my interest in the field of One Health and multisectoral collaboration for the elimination of zoonotic and other animal diseases. Thereafter, I worked shortly as National Animal Health Specialist at the UN FAO, Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases, Nepal to provide immediate technical assistance to address prioritized zoonotic diseases and AMR with a One Health approach in collaboration with government and other stakeholders. Here, I am a Ph.D. student for the project eRabies: Way towards rabies elimination in Uganda under the supervision of Prof. Sonja Hartnack.
