The Dennis and Mireille Gillings Global Public Health Fellowship in Emerging Infectious Diseases is a collaboration between the University of Cambridge (Department of Veterinary Medicine - DVM), the Institute of Public Health (IPH), and the Institut Pasteur International Network. This Fellowship is an exciting opportunity for an excellent candidate with a background in Health Sciences or Public Health or a related discipline to become a future leader in Public Health, shaping international health and science policy in relation to Emerging Infectious Diseases.

This 3 year Post-doctoral fellowship will be available from January 2016 and will include substantial periods at laboratories of the Institut Pasteur International Network , where the Gillings Fellow will adopt a project leadership role. This unique Fellowship will include a training programme that is tailored to equip the Gillings Fellow with leadership skills, financial acumen and business entrepreneurship, against a backdrop of research excellence, providing a clear pathway for early career researchers toward leadership roles in global public health.

Candidates must hold a PhD degree at the start of the fellowship (but not necessarily at the time of application). The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a high working capacity and strong motivation. The ability to design, plan and interpret original experiments in an independent and innovative manner along with managing your own workloads and working within a team are essential.
