PhD opportunity: Livestock Herd Contacts and FMD Modeling


Applicants must possess at minimum a DVM or a master’s degree by the start date and qualify for admission to the Graduate School at Kansas State University. Background training and interest in quantitative skills is highly preferred. The position will lead to a PhD degree with a focus on livestock contact, FMD modeling and epidemiology.

Kansas State University is in Manhattan, Kansas in the heart of Midwest U.S. livestock production. Manhattan is a vibrant university town that provides a quality environment for life and study. The College of Veterinary Medicine is a center for food safety and disease research with epidemiology, microbiology and livestock production specialists engaged in cutting edge research. The position is available starting in January 2016. Start date may be delayed until May 2016 for exceptional candidates.
